Sisters. What can I say....They are the best!

goodbye 4 runner

I have been wanting to get a van for a while. Jacob wanted to keep this 4 runner until it died. I disagreed and posted it on craig's list and immediately started getting calls about it. It was sold within a week. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Toyota. But, it was time to move on. We got a honda odyssey. Nothing fancy, but it is a lot easier with kids. Thanks for the memories 4 runner.

My darling Grace turns 2 yrs old on Thursday! She is such a little lady. She is obsessed with shoes, purses, makeup, jewelry, dresses, doggies, kitties, chocolate, and last but definately not least babies. She also has to keep up with her 2 older brothers so she has a hidden tough side. I am so thankful to have this spunky blue eyed gal in my life!

Isaac graduates preschool

My buddy Isaac just finished preschool and is on to bigger more exciting things (aka kindergarten). I am glad he had good experiences in preschool. It has been nice to have him home with me. What a great kid he is! During the day he would help me do the dishes, visit with me while we grocery shop, help me in the garden, and help watch Grace. Whoever his new Kindergarten teacher is (You are very lucky to have Isaac in your class, and you better take good care of my litte guy).

I have been doing a lot of fix ups in our house (painting). Grace manuevered to the open can of white paint before I did and dumped it all over the kitchen floor and herself. She didn't seem to mind the paint on her body and loved the texture in between her fingers. Thank goodness no lead. She bought herself a bath in the kitchen sink (she loved it of course).

Yes, I turned the big 30! I am proud to be 30. I have earned that age and it feels great! Jacob made this beautiful princess cake for me and planned a suprise party. Thanks honey.

Running my 1st Mini!!!

I ran my first mini this month! It was a great experience, and I am going to sign up to do it again next year. I started my training off with running 1 mile and yes... ended running 13.1! I started to tear up at mile 10 because I knew I would finish strong. I ran with my sister Emily. She kept me laughing the whole time. We started way in the back, and didn't get to the start line for 40 minutes after the start of the race. We dodged walkers the whole time. SO FUN!

This is my friend Ali, who I trained with. She is the one I saw at 7AM on Saturday mornings. Thanks Ali for being a great training partner!

Spring Break

We went to Northern Indiana for Spring Break. We stayed at Shipshewanna and Potoka State Park.

Shipshewanna Indiana is Amish country. We saw horse and buggy everywhere. It was like living in a different time. It made me want to simplify my life.

Splash Universe - The hotel we stayed at. We went around the Lazy River all day.
We stayed at a indoor water park. The boys went down the Tornado slide probably about 100 times. These boys have NO FEAR.

Jump and Play

We have been so busy lately! I started a new job in February working at a hospital by our house in the OB unit. I like my job, but it is less time I get to spend with my kids. I am also training for the mini in May. The running seems to eat up all my extra time. Jacob has been so busy working and trying to finish an art project he is working on. Despite our time crunch we took the kids to jump 'n play. They loved going down the inflatable slides. I love the picture of Gracie's little belly hanging out.

Jacob's trip to Utah

In March Jacob was able to take a trip to Utah to visit his sisters and brother. He had a fun time cathing up with them. He was able to see his Relief Sculptures that are in the Conference Center at Salt Lake. His sculptures are there on display for the LDS Art Competition which he won a merit award for. I am so proud of him! He had a long lay over in Phoenix and was able to visit with his other sister Mary and her children there in Arizona.

We just celebrated 10 yrs of Marriage!

We just celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary. In January we went to St. Louis where we were married. We stayed in the Renaissance were we stayed our wedding night. We did a Temple session at the St. Louis Temple where we were married. We went to the St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, and even ate breakfast at Denny's (same place we did the morning after being married.) It was fun to stroll down memory lane with our friends the Vail's. We also enjoyed leaving the kids with grandma and grandpa. Wow, Time flies by. Can you believe 10 years of being Mr. and Mrs. Dobson?

My dirty Laundry

I am going to spill all my dirty laundry. . . I mean I can't keep up with all my dirty laundry. We are a family of 5 with way too much dirty clothes. I am having a really hard time mastering the washing and putting away. The other day I had to look in 3 baskets to find a complete outfit. It is a chore that I absolutely dread, maybe because it is so thoughtless and non stimulating. I know someone has a great suggestion. Any ideas on how I can keep up on laundry and enjoy doing it?

Glenn Beck comes to Indy

Glenn Beck came to Indianapolis for a book signing. Jacob was able to go and meet him. I was sooo jealous. We are his biggest fans. Jacob said he was really down to earth and cool. After the book signing he casually talked with people. He was talking about warning others about the "perfect storm". You would have to listen to him to know what I am talking about. Check him out sometime.

This was a very special day for us. Grace wore the blessing dress that I was blessed in 29 years ago. Way to go mom on saving it for me! I was so impressed with how white the dress still was. We had all the family come back to our house for lunch after church.

Jacobs parents came all the way from the Philippines to visit family here in the states. One of the highlights was the trip down to southern Indiana. The boys had fun riding around the farm on the 4 wheeler and dressing up like girls in wigs. I never knew they could be so pretty!

Isaac and Nathanael came to visit us in the hospital. Isaac feel asleep while in my bed watching a movie. Jacob put Grace's hat on him and swaddled him in her blankets. We laid him in the bassinet and took his picture. I have never laughed harder in my life. He never woke up and luckily the nurses never walked in. We took a picture of Grace in the same place. I am so happy to announce my little girl is finally here. She was born June 17th at 1:57 am. 8 lbs 5.5 oz 21 in. Pretty smooth delivery. After waiting 41 weeks to see her I am amazed with how beautiful she is. The boys are excited that she is going to live at our house. I am very tired and trying to get into the nursing groove. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive.

Memorial Day Fun

We had a fun time at uncle Ron and aunt Lisa's lake house. The water was freezing but kids don't care if they swim in ice water. I was getting a great workout on the paddle boat with Victoria. I was hoping it would send me into labor. I guess I am going to have to wait a little longer.

I had a relaxing weekend without my kids and husband. The boys went on a father/son campout to McCormick's Creek. They had fun caving, swinging on vines, shooting a potato gun and hiking. Isaac said "mommy had to stay home with the belly".

We went on a business trip with Jacob to Chicago. We stayed in a great hotel with a beautiful view of the skyline. The boys had fun swimming in the hotel pool. I took the kids to the Navy Pier and the Children's Museum. What a beautiful city!

Bowling

My brother Ryan and his wife Sarah took the boys bowling. They never stopped talking about how they wanted to go again. We finally found the time to take them again. Everytime Nathanael threw the bowling ball he would fall to the ground (very dramatic). Isaac rolled the ball so slow that it stopped and started to come back to him. I havn't laughed harder in a really long time.

Nathanael and Isaac have great imaginations. What it would be like to be a kid again with nothing to do but play in the dirt. They found some scrap wood and built forts for their toys. They sat in this corner of the yard playing for hours. We didn't care they came in all muddy as long as they had fun.

In case you were wondering this is not a Abercrombie and Fitch Ad. This is my 5 year old son Nathanael. My son has a wacky personality unlike anyone I have ever lived with before. He keeps us laughing and guessing on what to do next. This winter day he wanted to play in the snow but refused to put a shirt on. We gave up and told him to go have fun. We immediately grabbed the camera.
